On Thursday night, December 14, 2023, the City of Portal will hold their Santa in Portal toy giveaway and Christmas Tree lighting.
On Saturday, December 16th at 1:00 PM the City of Portal will hold their annual Christmas parade downtown. Portal's Bobby Ivey will be the Grand Marshall. There will be a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause as well. If you can't make it, Grice Connect will live stream the parade on our Grice Connect Facebook page. Heritage Society Christmas Festival and Toy Giveaway
On Saturday December 9th, the Portal Heritage Society held its Christmas Festival and Toy Giveaway in Portal at the Turpentine Still. Rescheduled from a rainy December 2, the event brought a warm and sunshiny day for the holiday festivities.
The event had live entertainment including singing and a ventriloquist, vendors for shopping, bounce houses, and so much more.
The highlight from the event was the free toy giveaway. Children had the opportunity to visit and take pictures with Santa before receiving their free gifts.
"This is our 2nd annual Christmas Festival and Toy Giveaway. We have countless toys being given away by Santa and several vendors and activities here as well," stated Tim Cook, President of the Portal Heritage Society. "We have numerous toys to giveaway today, all of which were free donations to us. This giveaway is truly a blessing for our community."
