The Statesboro Southern Cruisers Auto and Truck Club will host its 31st Car show on Saturday, March 25, 2023. The event will take place at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fairgrounds located on Hwy. 67 South in Statesboro, GA. It will begin at 8:00am and end at 3:00pm. (The event registration will take place on Saturday morning at 8:00am and will close at 11:00am.) Awards for the car show will be presented at 3:00pm. All locals are invited to attend the car show, as food vendors, musical acts, and door prizes will fill the hours of fun.
Car registration fees will be $25. Tickets to attend the show will be $5, with ages 12 and under getting in for free. For any interested vendors, the vendor booth fee will be $50. Prizes for the event will range from door prizes to “Best of Show” trophies to “Top 50” trophies to various other specialty trophies.
Car enthusiasts from near and far will come together to experience the joy and elation of this classic car event. Cars ranging from vintage car models to contemporary cars will compete for local charity’s sake.
"Our car show is a family-oriented event. Furthermore, all proceeds from the event goes towards supporting local charities," Southern Cruisers Club Treasurer, Juanita Boddiford, said. "Everyone who attends the event each year expresses how much fun they had. So, we are very excited for our 31st year of festivities to commence.”
The Southern Cruisers club is a non-profit organization which was formed back in October 1990. This year, the club will celebrate its 31st year of hosting its annual car show. The organization did not hold its show in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so they are very thankful to have made up all progress lost towards achieving their annual charitable goals.
Typically, the club raises $8,000-$10,000 above their yearly expenses for local charity donations. The donations go towards various local organizations who are dedicated to assisting those with medical illnesses. Club members range from locals in Bulloch County to residents from other surrounding counties. Finally, club membership does not require the ownership of a classic car. You must only have an interest in supporting the local community and a general admiration for automobiles.
