Statesboro High to host wrestling camp for kids on Jan. 1-2

Statesboro High School will host a two-day wrestling camp for boys and girls, ages 5 to 12, on January 1-2, 2024, providing an opportunity to learn the basics of wrestling and spark interest in the sport under the guidance of Head Coach Chris Wickstrom.

Statesboro High School will host a wrestling camp for girls and boys on Jan. 1-2, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, in the school's Junior Varsity Gym.

Led by Chris Wickstrom, Statesboro's head wrestling coach, the camp seeks to share the basic fundamentals of wrestling with youth ages 5 to 12 and to increase interest in the sport.

Registration is $65 per camper if you'd like a camp t-shirt or $50 without a shirt. To guarantee a t-shirt and proper size, please register before Dec. 16. 

Families may register students at https://bit.ly/3ZekKsF. Payments may be made by cash or a check made payable to the SHS Wrestling Boosters. Payments may be brought on the first day of camp, or check payments can be mailed to Statesboro High School Wrestling, 10 Coach Lee Hill Boulevard, Statesboro, GA 30458.  

Participants will need to come to camp with a water bottle. They will also need to wear comfortable athletic shoes and socks.
