It was Senior Day for Southeast Bulloch's softball team on Tuesday as the Yellow Jackets hosted the Islands Sharks. Southeast Bulloch celebrated the careers of their 3 seniors, Paisley Nordeoff, Megan Newham, and Madison Oliff.

After having a long layoff, the Lady Jackets showed no signs of rust in their win on Tuesday. Marissa Waters started for SEB and kept the Sharks off the board along with the defense behind her. The bats were hot and the speed running around the bases put a lot of pressure on the Sharks' defense.

The scoring came in bunches after the first inning. A 2-0 lead ballooned up to 16-0 before you knew it.

After the game, the Seniors took their last lap around the bases. Each player would meet the coaching at on the hill, then walk to home base for pictures with family. The player would then leave their family to walk around the bases where they were met with teammates at each stop. It was an emotional event for everyone involved.

Head Coach Aimee Civalier spoke on how great of leaders her seniors were. "Lead by example, work hard, hustling all of the time; it has been really good overall leadership from our senior group this year," Civalier said.

The seniors have had very successful careers as members of the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets' softball team. They have had deep playoff runs in all 4 years including a run to the Final 4 in their freshman year.

"They are our last connection to Colombus, so when we did our goals this year, that was one of the things they made sure we focused on," Civalier said.

This senior day hit a lot harder for the coaching staff than most years. Paisley Nordeoff is the daughter of Aimee and Sabrina Civalier.

Head Coach Aimee Civalier got emotional speaking on Paisley. "I've been in her life since she was 7 in travel ball, middle school, and high school ball," Aimee Civalier said. "It's tough thinking about this being her last time out here."

Co-Head Coach Sabrina Civalier also shared her thoughts on her daughter's senior night. "It has been amazing and yet hard at times," Sabrina Civalier said. "I am having a harder time with the ending of our softball career than her graduation. Softball is something that we both love so much and to be able to have a coach-player relationship is very special. It is a chapter that is ending and I will cherish all of our memories that we have had on the field."
