The Bulloch Academy Lady Gators are set to make a road trip up to Columbus for the first round of the GIAA state championships. Bulloch Academy will take on Strong Rock Christian on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at noon.
The Lady Gators finished with a 12-5 record on the year and ranked 6th in the division.
The regular season was good for the Gators to prepare for the playoffs, but their success is no precursor for how the postseason will look. Head Coach Ashley Burke said that anything can happen in the playoffs.
"It is all about who comes and plays on that day," Burke said.
The GIAA State Championships will be from the 17th to the 19th. The tournament is double elimination, so Game 1 against Strong Rock is not the end-all be-all for the Gators. However, a win will be a big boost to momentum and confidence moving forward.
