Mrs. Peggy R. Finch, 86, of Sardis, GA, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Optim Medical Center Screven.
Peggy was born on May 22, 1938, to Bennett Radcliff and Floy Smith Radcliff in Waynesboro, GA. Peggy raised her family on the farm, where she was often driving a tractor, plowing the fields, or slopping the hogs. Peggy owned her own flower shop for over twenty years in Sylvania, GA where Walgreen’s is now located. She enjoyed sewing, going to yard sales, and traveling, especially to the mountains or taking cruises. She was an avid card player; her favorite card game was Canasta. Peggy also loved cooking and was well known for her fried chicken. She will always be remembered by her funny spirit and could make anyone laugh. Peggy was a member of the Methodist Church of Sardis as well as the Homemakers Club and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and a son-in-law, Benjamin “Benji” Hodges.
She is survived by her children, Noonie Hodges, of Sylvania, and Kenneth (Patsy) Finch, of Ellabell, GA; grandchildren, Deena (Todd) Sheffield, and Whitley Waters, both of Sylvania; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Joiner Anderson Screven, with Rev. Cole Wiggins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
