Leneise Bass Davis

August 5, 1933 ~ July 4, 2024 (age 90)

Mrs. Leneise Bass Davis, 90, of Swainsboro, passed away, Thursday, July 4, 2024, following a brief illness.

She was born August 5, 1933 to Joe Bass, Sr. and Ethelyn Strobridge. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee Samuel Davis; Sons, Calvin Williams, Samuel Davis, Jr.; brother, Joe Bass, Jr.; sister, Magnolia Jackson; close family and cousins, Irene Wadley, Dorothy Humes, Eddie Jones, Robert Strobridge.

Mrs. Leneise was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was also an artist, homemaker, a marvelous cook and loved to travel.  She crafted handmade quilts, crocheted hats and scarfs, did knitting and drawings.  Mrs. Leneise drew her own designs for embroidery, making lovely artwork.  Her drawings and paintings have been enjoyed by many.

She also enjoyed landscaping her yard with beautiful flowers, lovely rose bushes and budding trees. She worked as a Wal-Mart associate and got to meet lots of nice people and made some cherished new friends.  She retired in 2020 after 20 years of service.

She is survived by her daughters, Etha Lin Bell (Donnie), Dorothy Young, Lannie Williams, Celesta Worthen (Rodney), all of Swainsboro, twin daughters, Georgia Williams Davis of Swainsboro and Julia Williams (Eddie) of Augusta, Allie Williams of Atlanta, Deneise Turner of New York, NY; grandchildren, Alex Smith (April) of Statesboro, Pamela Ross (John), Dexter Simmons, Chris Simmons, Deric Williams (Katie), LeKisha Hammond (Detron), Anthony Williams, Erica Williams, Brianna Phillps, Quintin Davis (Eboni), Xavier Davis, Chaniqua Worthen, Keashaun Worthen, Joshua Turner; 18 great grand-children, 1 great - great granddaughter, several nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Promise Connection Church, 303 North Green St., Swainsboro, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at the Swainsboro City Cemetery.   

Pallbearers are Alex Smith, Deric Williams, Dexter Smith, Quintin Davis, John Ross and Detron Hammond.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Williams, Christopher Smith, Xavier Davis, Joshua Turner, Marcus Smith and Jacoby Smith.
