Judy Hodges Tippins

Claxton, GA - Judy Hodges Tippins, 82, passed away June 12, 2024 at her home.

She was a member of Shellman Bluff Baptist Church since 2010 and prior to that, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Claxton. Judy was a registered nurse and licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She worked at Taylor Nursing Home for twenty-five years in different capacities including Director of Nursing, Administrator and Consultant. Judy married the love of her life, Bobby Tippins, and spent forty loving years together. She enjoyed fishing, the coast, the mountains, camping and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Remer Tippins, III; son, Robert “Bob” Joseph Tippins; father, Roy T. Hodges; mother, Evelyn Mae Carter; sister and brother-in-law, Janie Hodges Strickland and Joel Strickland; brother, Rory Hodges.

SURVIVORS: son, Wesley Franklin Tippins, Sr. of Shellman Bluff, Ga.; grandson, Wesley Franklin Tippins, Jr.; granddaughter, Sydney Grace Tippins; sister-in-law, Vicki Hodges; one niece, three nephews, multiple great-nieces and nephews, and great-great- nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Brewton Cemetery.
