Joan Griffin Lanier, dearly-loved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, 76, of Statesboro, passed away on Wednesday May 17, 2023, in Statesboro, Georgia.
Joan was born in Savannah, GA to John and Frances Griffin, on April 4th, 1947. She was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a devoted mother and grandmother of five.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, John & Frances Griffin. Joan is survived by her brother, John W. Jr. and sister in law, Michelle Griffin; her children; eldest daughter, Kimberly and son in law, Jason Grantham; & youngest daughter, Kerri and son in law, Brian Arendes; her five grand-children, Hunter Joshua & Gabrianna Faith Grantham, Brian Austin, Ashlyn Shea, and Addyson MaKay Arendes; her nephews Sean & Christopher Griffin; her fur baby, Sophie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21st from 4:00 until 600 PM at Deal Funeral Directors.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 22nd at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Deal Funeral Directors with Rev. Joey Fennell officiating.
Burial will follow in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
