Mr. Jerry Bernard Johnson, age 67, of Hinesville, GA., passed on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at East Georgia Medical Regional Center in Statesboro, GA.
He was educated in the Bulloch County School System. He was employed at Northside Hospital and Atlanta Constitution in Decatur GA for many years. Jerry then went on to work for NCO Academy in Fort Stewart, GA as a head cook for 18 years. He was a member of Beautiful Zion Baptist Church in Pembroke, GA.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Mattie Lee Johnson, sister, Janice Johnson, three brothers, Gerald Johnson, Billy Johnson, and Ronnie Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Marrelle Johnson, Hinesville, GA; children, Carlus Johnson, Eric Johnson and Mataya Johnson all of Decatur, GA, and Danaria Latrice, Atlanta, GA; sisters, Barbara (Homer) Holloway, Ellabell, GA, Cynthia Devillars, Richmond Hill, GA and Betty Malden, Hinesville, GA; 3 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law; grandchilren, who he loved dearly, Laiyla Johnson, Saniya Johnson, Kryundria Johnson, Khayla Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 6:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home Chapel, 238 West Main Street, Statesboro, GA 30458.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 2:00p.m. at Second Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, 1212 McDougald Prkwy, Statesboro, GA 30458. Craig R. Tremble, Eulogist.
Interment will be at the Eastside Cemetery, 1502 Northside Drive, Statesboro, GA.
