James 'Jimmy' Warren Sturdivant Jr.

Mr. James “Jimmy” Warren Sturdivant, Jr., 78, of Sylvania, GA, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

He was born on October 8, 1946, in Millen, GA to James Warren Sturdivant, Sr. and Lyla Forehand Sturdivant. He served in the United States Navy for four years, where he was stationed in Japan. He worked at Cooper Wiss as an electrical maintenance technician for Viracon until his retirement in 2016. Jimmy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, painting cars, and working with his hands. Jimmy was known as a jokester, and enjoyed making people laugh. He also enjoyed having a meal and meeting friends at the Huddle House. Jimmy was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeane Sturdivant, children, Michael (Allison) Sturdivant, Roger Sturdivant, Billy (Tammy) Lewis, Joy Lewis, and Steve (Connie) Lewis, a daughter-in-law, Angie Lee, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a sister, Kathy Johnson, his bonus mom, Gwen Sturdivant, sister-in-law, Cherril Sturdivant, brothers-in-law, Alan (Janice) Bragg, David Hayes, all of Sylvania, and Ricky (Teresa) Bragg, of Metter and two nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jamie Sturdivant, and his brother, Gary Sturdivant.

Graveside services will be held at Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah, GA, the time of the service is pending, and this obituary will be updated once it is confirmed.

Brian Rogers will be an honorary pallbearer.
