Mr. Dennis "Radio" Perkins, age 62, passed into rest Monday, February 6, 2023, at his residence.
The native of Statesboro, Georgia received his formal education in the public school system of Bulloch County Georgia.
At an early age he became a member of the St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church. He later attended the St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church, and he was employed with Claxton Poultry Farms, Inc.
Dennis was often seen on his red motorcycle and with his decorated bicycle with flashing lights, mirrors, and his “Boom” box. He was known by many as “Radio.”
Dennis James Perkins is preceded in death by his father, Willie James "Sandy" Perkins and 4 siblings.
He is survived by his wife of thirty three years, Vanessa Perkins, Statesboro, Ga; one son, La’Jarvis Dennis Perkins (Tierra), Dallas Texas; a daughter, Christavier Littles Statesboro Ga; his mother, Iretha Perkins, Statesboro, Ga; three sisters, Patricia Perkins, Philadelphia Pa., Janet Jackson, Augusta Ga., Mary (Gary) Burns, Statesboro, Ga; one brother, Stanley Perkins, Statesboro, Ga; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Perkins, Rincon, Ga., Ursula Rozier, College Park, Ga and Cynthia (Minister James Canty), Statesboro, Ga; brothers-in-law, Stanley (Carol) Rozier, College Park, and Arthur (Chauncy), Rozier, III, Lithonia, Ga; four grandchildren, Izlen Chase Perkins, Jayla Stovall, Isaiah Stovall and Xavier Stovall; a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing for Mr. Perkins, will be held, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the funeral home.
The funeral service for Mr. Dennis "Radio" Perkins, will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 20223 at the chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc. with the Rev. James Curtis Canty, officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastside Cemetery.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
