David Ray Posey, 54, of Rossville, Georgia went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 11, 2024. He was born in Decatur, Alabama on April 19, 1968 and had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life. He lived in Brunswick, Georgia from 2015 – 2017 and then to South Carolina in 2017 before moving back to the North Georgia area in 2023. He was of the Baptist faith and was last employed with Volvo Cars in Ridgeville, South Carolina for more than 7 years as a Supervisor. He was also employed with Blue Bird in LaFayette from 1992 – 2010 as a Supervisor and truly had a passion for manufacturing. David could make anything work and loved teaching others how to do the same. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Cliff Posey and grandparents, W.E. Davis & Cora Hayes Davis.
Survivors include his loving wife of more than 30 years, Ginger Crider Posey; mother, Margaret Posey; daughters & sons-in-law, Elizabeth & Eric Lyle and Kelsie & Andrew Cobb of Statesboro; brother & sister-in-law, James Warren & Shirl Posey; sisters & brother-in-law, Sandra & Michael Liles and Christy Parrish; future grandson, Walker David Lyle; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2024 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Bro. William Young officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday and prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
