Bruce Wayne Hottle

February 7, 1962  -  October 30, 2024

Bruce W. Hottle was a larger than life, dearly loved and treasured Husband and proud, adoring Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Bruce W. Hottle, age 62, of Statesboro, Georgia joined his Heavenly Father on October 30, 2024. He had bravely confronted and fought heart disease. He was born February 7, 1962, in Augusta, Georgia. Bruce grew up in Augusta, GA.

He enjoyed family, friends, and all sports growing up. Bruce graduated from Glenn Hills High School in 1980, where he went on to pursue a career and further his education with the Local Union 150 in Augusta, Georgia. From 1980-1985 Bruce excelled in training and education as a Journeyman Pipefitter/Welder at Plant Vogtle in Waynesboro, GA, then moved on to Savannah River Nuclear Site from 1985 - 1990 where he worked in Quality Closure and Central Shops. He moved to Hilton Head, SC in 1990 to become a Golf Professional. Bruce was an accomplished Golf Professional/Golfer. Bruce became a certified PGA Instructor. While working in Hilton Head Island, SC as a Golf Professional he and a friend encountered a challenge.

The challenge was accepted on a whim, Bruce W Hottle and a dear friend, Mark Demling, went on to open "Romeo's" pizza cafe in Bluffton, SC. They were very successful for many years. Bruce loved and enjoyed every mission he set out to accomplish. In early 2003 Bruce made the decision to get back to his hometown, Augusta, GA. in hopes of having a quiet life and family of his own. He returned to his roots and re-entered the Nuclear Industry. He was a born leader and organizer at both Plant Vogtle and Savannah River Nuclear Site while working in Pipefitting, Welder, Planning, Safety, and Quality Control. Bruce is consistently praised as a great man, worker, helper, friend, and always brought joy, life, laughter, and energy wherever he landed.

He is survived by his adoring wife of 20 years Renee S. Hottle of Statesboro, GA; his treasured daughter Claire Isabella Hottle of Statesboro, GA; Parents, G.W. and Frances Hottle of Evans, GA; Sister, Pam F. Hottle of Augusta, GA; Nephew, Kyle P Mathis (Lani Frost Mathis) of Evans, GA; Niece, Morgan L. Mathis of Evans, GA; Great Niece Madison L. Williams (Morgan) and Great Niece Olive Isabelle Mathis (Kyle), both of Evans, GA.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, November 9th, from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The service will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be at Millen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Phillip Mathis, Ricky Sweat, Michael T. O’Connell, Mars D. Dukes, Thomas L. Nelson, Mark E.Demling, John P. McMahon, and Charles O. Nasworthy. Mr. Jimmy M. Clark will be an honorary pallbearer.
