Andrew Lee Johnson, a devoted father, grandfather, and man of unwavering faith, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 25, 2025, after an extended illness. He was 72 years old.
Born on December 29, 1952, in Sumter County, Georgia, Andrew was a proud son of the South, deeply rooted in the values of hard work, family, and faith. He was the beloved son of the late Mary Alice Moreland Johnson and J.C. Johnson. A man of many talents and interests, Andrew was known for building strong relationships, offering wise counsel, and using his time and heart to serve those around him.
Andrew spent many years working at ITT Grinnell, where he forged lasting friendships and earned the respect of his colleagues through his dedication, hard work, and caring personality. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a man of strong character who found joy in the simple things of life—his family, his faith, and the strength of his community.
He was the former husband of Carolyn P. Johnson, with whom he shared the joy of raising their three daughters: LaSonya Brunson (Kelvin) of Statesboro, GA; LaTonya McGruder (Izell) of Canton, GA; and Andrea Lee (Brian) of San Antonio, TX. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Brian T. Lee II and Aniyah J. Lee, who brought him immense pride and happiness.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Earlene Allen, Willie C. Johnson, Curtis Johnson, and Elizabeth Johnson. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life: his loving sisters Pauline Heath of Americus, GA, and Jessie P. Johnson of Bronx, NY; and his devoted brother, Julius Johnson of Smithville, GA. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever remember his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Though Andrew's earthly journey has ended, the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the faith he lived will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A public viewing for Mr. Johnson will be held on Monday evening, April 28, 2025, from 4 P.M. to 7 P.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson's remains will lie in state, on the day of service from 10 A.M until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
The funeral service for Andrew L. Johnson will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Scarboro Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Cone, officiating. Burial will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
