United Way's "Community Investment Committee (CIC)" seeks volunteers

The United Way of Southeast Georgia is seeking volunteers for its Community Investment Committee (CIC). 

As members of the CIC, your representatives will have the opportunity to review grant applications, conduct interviews with nonprofit management teams, and participate in site visits to assess program impact. 

United Way is seeking dedicated individuals who are:

  • Committed to United Way’s mission to improve lives
  • Interested in the Community Investments process and how our funds are distributed
  • Would like to be an integral part of helping United Way make informed decisions to direct Community Fund dollars to local nonprofit organizations
  • Able to work as a team to make objective decisions based on community needs and program performance
  • Able to make the necessary time commitments

Volunteer Orientation & Presentations

To begin, United Way will host an orientation session on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2:30 pm in the classroom of the Outreach Center located at 515 Denmark St. During this meeting, they'll provide an overview of volunteer responsibilities and distribute agency applications for review.

United Way's goal is to complete all agency presentations and funding recommendations by Friday, March 22, 2024. The time commitment for committee members is minimal, typically requiring 8-12 hours between March 8th and March 22nd.
