Two arrested following stabbing at Statesboro apartment complex near Hospital

Stabbing occured at Market 100 on March 6, 2025

Two individuals have been arrested in connection to a stabbing that occurred late Thursday night at Market 100 Apartments on Bermuda Run Road.

According to the Statesboro Police Department (SPD), officers responded to the scene at 11:30 p.m. on March 6, 2025, and found an adult female victim suffering from stab wounds. Officers provided immediate medical assistance before the victim was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center. Her injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.

During the investigation, officers identified several individuals residing in the involved apartment and brought them to SPD headquarters for interviews. Detectives later obtained a search warrant for the apartment, leading to the arrests of 18-year-old Precious Mincey and a 16-year-old female juvenile. Mincey was charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Knife during the Commission of a Felony. The juvenile suspect was charged as a Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault and was also found to have an active warrant from the Department of Juvenile Justice in Hinesville, Ga. She was transported to the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center.

Authorities stated that the stabbing stemmed from a personal dispute between those involved. None of the individuals arrested appear to be enrolled at Georgia Southern University.
