On Thursday, December 19, 2024, action pact, Inc. of Bulloch County brought holiday cheer to more than 70 senior adults at their annual Christmas Party.
Known for their unwavering commitment to sharing blessings throughout the year, the organization made this holiday season truly special. Action pact is a non-profit organization totally sold out to giving Seniors a place to socialize, develop friendships, stimulate their brains, and most of all have FUN.
It's tucked in behind Ogeechee Area Hospice at 235 Granade Street in Statesboro.
“We are forever grateful for the help of the community to come together and make Christmas special for the local seniors every year. Our seniors look forward to celebrating Christmas together with good food, good singing, good fellowship, and of course, the fulfillment of gift giving provided by generous donations," shared Alicia Dickerson, Outreach Coordinator.
This celebration was made possible by the help of local sponsors including The Statesboro Family YMCA, the Holiday Helper Tree of GSU, AgSouth, Dr. Allison Rushing, Mr. Roy and Russell Jones, and Fostering Bulloch.
Thanks to the generosity of our community and these sponsors, seniors received heartfelt gifts for Christmas. For many, these gifts were the only ones they will receive, highlighting the vital role our community plays in supporting our seniors.
The music was festive with its own ‘action pact choir." Everyone enjoyed their opening song Silent Night, several individual solos, a special reading of ‘The Night Before Christmas' by Joyce Brown, and a heartfelt message by Rev. Craig Tremble.
A delicious ‘Christmas Buffet Lunch’ was prepared by Ms. Betina Givens and Ms. Rodie Hunter. The menu included roast chicken wings, dressing with cranberry, green beans, lima beans, rolls, banana pudding, and peach cobbler.
Action pact director Alex Smith's final remarks included, “We would like to thank all that made this annual Christmas party possible for our seniors to feel special. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this event a success and for helping spread the joy of the season."
Merry Christmas!!
