Second bomb threat at Briggs & Stratton under investigation

Bomb threat at Briggs & Stratton

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office responded to a bomb threat at Briggs and Stratton just before noon on Thursday, March 27, 2025. The threat was reported via the Statesboro Fire Department, prompting a swift response from deputies, K-9 units, and investigators.

This is the second bomb threat at the facility in just four months. The last one occurred on December 17, 2024.

The facility, located at 7251 Zell Miller Parkway in the Industrial Park near 301 South and A.J. Riggs Road, was safely evacuated before teams conducted a thorough search using highly trained bomb detection K-9s.

Law enforcement later confirmed that no threat was found, and that the area is safe. The extra law enforcement presence in the area has since cleared, and there is no danger to the public.

"The building was evacuated and thoroughly searched by deputies, investigators, and K-9 teams. No evidence of any explosive device was found, and the facility is clear. The investigation remains ongoing. Sheriff Brown thanks everyone for their cooperation and extends appreciation to all agencies involved," the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office shared in a statement Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff Noel Brown is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office at (912)764-8888 and ask to speak with an investigator.
