Join Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful at Mill Creek Park from 2 pm until 5 pm on Saturday, October 26, for the third annual RecycleFest, where local vendors are excited to teach Bulloch County’s residents about waste management and environmentally conscious disposal.
“We aim to give people a collective recycling option for most commonly used items by partnering with local collectors, recyclers, and businesses to divert otherwise usable or recyclable materials from the landfill,” Charly Kinship wrote.
Kinship joined KSBB in March of 2024 as the Advisory Board coordinator, and is excited to have vendors that return year after year to educate the community. The event began as a way to help offset landfill waste after the local recycling programs were closed down.
“We believe it's important to keep recycling information on the forefront of people's minds even if we don't have area-wide recycling services. There are several community partners willing to do a little extra work to have some consistent recycling; RecycleFest is just one way we can reach people to let them know we are here,” Kinship said.
Businesses that will be present include GreenRock Recycling, the Statesboro Police Department, Pittman Park UMC, Ecycle Atlanta, and Retails Thrift Store. Other informational tables focused on environmental efforts in our community will also be present at RecycleFest.
Vendors will provide information about their services and the items they accept, which include household recyclables, batteries, medications, and electronics.
