Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch and RAM holding diaper drive to support No Child Wet Behind Diaper Bank

Resourceful Ambassadors of Medicine (RAM) is partnering with Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch to stock the agency’s No Child Wet Behind Diaper Bank. RAM is conducting a Diaper Drive to collect diapers and wipes on Georgia Southern’s Statesboro campus. The Diaper Drive will take place in the weeks leading up to National Diaper Needs awareness Week, which is September 23-29.

Boxes have been set up at the following locations on campus: Counseling Center, Zach S. Henderson Library, Child Development Center, Williams Center, Russell Union, and Eagle Food Pantry. Students and faculty can drop off packages of diapers and wipes at their convenience.

“We are so grateful for the continuing support from Georgia Southern for Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch’s work to strengthen families,” said Lora Cooper, Executive Director of Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch. Cooper added, “Diapers are a basic necessity that many families struggle to afford. This Diaper Drive will make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve, providing much-needed relief and support. “

The No Child Wet Behind Diaper Bank provides critical resources to families in need, helping to ensure that every child has access to clean, dry diapers. Despite the essential nature of diapers, they are not covered by government assistance programs like WIC or SNAP, making the support of local initiatives like this drive vital.

As a program of Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch, a local non-profit, generosity from the community helps to meet the mission of the diaper bank to ensure that every child has access to the basic necessities for a healthy start.

Community members are invited to support this important cause by donating diapers and spreading the word.

For more information on the Diaper Drive please contact Alaina Rearden, Director of Recruitment for RAM at ar25508@georgiasouthern.edu or Lora Cooper at (912) 489-8547 or ed@pcabulloch.org.

About Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch

Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch is a local council of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia and has been serving the Bulloch County community since 1988. Although the agency’s name has changed over the years, its commitment to preventing child abuse and neglect before it happens has not changed.

Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch is directly or indirectly touching a sizable majority of the community by providing diapers for families in need through its No Child Wet Behind Diaper Bank, referrals to community resources for a family that is overwhelmed through its Resource Guide, school supplies for a child to have a great school year through its annual Back to School Supply Drive, or by providing much needed information on child development to a parent through its First Steps program.  E

ach time that Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch's work touches an individual or family, not only is that individual or family strengthened--the entire community is strengthened.

About RAM

RAM is a Pre-Health student organization at Georgia Southern that aims to help students get involved in volunteering and shadowing in the healthcare community of Statesboro. The organization sources local practices and programs that are willing to let students come in and volunteer with them to help with their initiatives before sharing those resources with our members.

Although opportunities are geared towards Pre-Health students, students from all fields are welcome and encouraged to join.
