The Portal, Georgia, community is eagerly anticipating the opening of its brand new Family Dollar/Dollar Tree combo store at 27230 US Hwy. 80.
Family Dollar/Dollar Tree combo stores are popping up more frequently, but especially in rural locations. These combo stores are meant to support the needs of a small-town community, while saving them the long distance drive to get craft and household supplies from larger cities.
Baby CJ's Rib Shack, located next door to the site, will share part of the parking lot of the new Family Dollar/Dollar Tree combo store.
Owner of Baby CJ's Rib Shack, Clint Lovett, shared some thoughts on the new Portal combo store's opening.
"Many people in the Portal community are excited to have more stores here in town so that we don't always have to drive to Statesboro for basic supplies," he said. "Having this new addition to the community will also create local employment opportunities and put more money back into the community. Many Portal residents love our Lanier's IGA, Dollar General, and several other local stores. So this new combo store will be a great addition to our community."
Currently, there is no official, publicly released open date for the Portal Family Dollar/Dollar Tree store but it appears to be very close to opening. Grice Connect will keep you posted on further developments as they become available.
Grice Connect reached out to store officials, but none were able to speak on record regarding the store opening.
