Next Fix-it Friday to feature bicycle repair

Fix-It Fridays is a monthly event that invites locals to bring small appliances, furniture, and feature fixes for free repairs while learning from repair experts. September 15th from 6p-8p is the next Fix-It Friday Event.

Georgia Southern's Fab Lab and the City of Statesboro's Greener Boro Commission have teamed up to host monthly "Fix-It Fridays" as part of an ongoing campaign to reduce waste and encourage innovation within Bulloch County.

The next Fix-It Friday Event is Friday, September 15th from 6 to 8 p.m., and the September Feature Fix is Basic Bicycle Repair.

Attendees are invited to bring their bikes and other items to the BIG alley for repairs. Additional regular repairs such as basic small appliance/electrical and furniture repair will be showcased at the event, as well.

The purpose of Fix-It Fridays is to promote sustainability and innovation by teaching people how to repair items themselves, instead of throwing away and purchasing new.

The BIG team invites locals to come to the Fab Lab with your broken items and enjoy free burgers, repairs, and camaraderie with repair experts.

The Fab Lab is located at the corner of Railroad St. and E. Vine St., with parking on Railroad Street. Contact fab-lab@georgiasouthern.edu for more information.
