New free web app "BEEnevolent" empowers users to become bee advocates

Just in time for Pollinator Week (June 16-22), a new web application called BEEnevolent is buzzing with potential to help save honey bees. Launched on June 17th, this free-to-use platform empowers everyone to become a bee advocate, fostering a future where these vital pollinators thrive.

Beekeeping expertise meets tech innovation

BEEnevolent is the brainchild of a passionate team based in Savannah, Georgia, with a unique background. Founded in 2021, the team combines their deep understanding of beekeeping with cutting-edge technology.

This blend of expertise is further amplified by their partnership with the USDA Honey Bee Research Laboratory in Beltsville, Maryland. This prestigious institution, the largest bee research laboratory in the country, provides invaluable scientific insights that fuel the development of BEEnevolent's innovative platform, ensuring it offers the most up-to-date and effective beekeeping guidance.

Empowering people, protecting pollinators

According to a National Institute of Food and Agriculture report, pollinators play a crucial role in reproducing over 75% of flowering plants and nearly 35% of global food crops. They help produce food and maintain the health of ecosystems.

Without pollinators, the world’s food supply and biodiversity would suffer greatly. Pollinator Week reminds us of the urgent need to protect these invaluable creatures and their habitats.

Sade Shofidiya, CEO of BEEnevolent, states, "At BEEnevolent, we're driven by a simple yet critical goal: securing the future of our food system. By empowering everyone to become a champion for pollinators through our technology, we can ensure healthy bee populations thrive globally. This, in turn, safeguards the rich tapestry of life and the very foundation of global food security for generations to come.”

From Savannah to the world

BEEnevolent isn't just another startup; it's a movement humming with innovation. The organization operates from the Georgia Grown Innovation Center, housed within the Georgia Southern University Business Innovation Group.

This prime location fosters BEEnevolent's commitment to local entrepreneurship and sustainable agriculture. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, BEEnevolent empowers beekeepers, leading to healthier bees, food security, and a sustainable future for our planet.
