GS Chi Omega chapter to host 5k for Make-A-Wish on Saturday

Chi Omega at Georgia Southern University is holding a 5k color run called Run for Make-A-Wish on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 8am. Participants should meet at 104 Olympic Boulevard. Click here to register or find additional details.

Chi Omega's national philanthropy is Make-A-Wish, and all of the proceeds raised from registration and donations from the race will go to the Make-A-Wish Georgia organization. Make-A-Wish Georgia is a non-profit organization that "shines a light of hope for children fighting critical illnesses when they need it most."

Participants can choose to run or walk in the color run. To run, registration is $35, and walk registration is $25 without a t-shirt guarantee. Registration will be open until the start of the race.

When the race starts, members of Chi Omega will be throwing colorful powder for a fun twist and will continue to throw color powder throughout the course to keep participants energized.

"Statesboro community, we’d LOVE for you to join us! Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, your support means the world. Let’s make it a family affair filled with color, fun, and giving back to such an important cause," the organization shared on social media.

Runners and walkers will start at the Chi Omega house, run through Georgia Southern's campus all the way to Sweetheart Circle, and finish back at the Chi Omega house.

At the end of the race, Matthew Tate will be handing out the winner's trophies and medals. Matthew is a second grader at Langston Chapel and is a Make-A-Wish kid, himself.

Register for the race using the QR code on the flyer!
