The Bulloch County Recreation and Parks Department hosted its annual "Cookies with Santa" event this past weekend at the Bulloch County Agricultural Complex, delighting families with holiday fun and festivities.

Originally held at the department’s downtown office, the event was relocated to the Ag Complex in 2020 during the pandemic to provide a safe, open-air environment for children to meet Santa. Since then, it has become a cherished tradition for many local families.

“This is our 'Cookies and Cocoa with Santa' event,” said Kimberly Sharpe. “This is just a fun environment for young children to run around and play. This year we partnered with Southern Pottery and Art Studio to help children create Christmas pottery keepsakes. We have tons of arts and crafts here today for children to enjoy, in addition to meeting and greeting Santa.”

In addition to crafts, families enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies while taking festive photos with Santa, who arrived in style, courtesy of Four Points Santa. Anderson’s General Store and Bulloch Fertilizer provided a classic red antique truck as the perfect holiday backdrop for photos.

The annual event continues to offer a magical experience for the community, with new plate designs and setup changes every year to keep the tradition fresh and exciting for returning families.

“It’s just a fun morning for kids to come out and enjoy a relaxed environment while celebrating the holiday season,” Sharpe added.

The department looks forward to hosting this family-friendly holiday tradition for years to come.
