Fun, fast, low-impact adult exercise classes are free in Feb. at the Averitt Center

Free Zumba Classes

Are you an adult looking for a fun, fast way to get some low-impact exercise that does not require a membership? If you are able to squeeze a 30-minute stop into your Saturday morning, here are five reasons to drop in and give it a try:

  1. Group exercise is fun!
  2. You’re not alone but no gym and no big crowds (max class size 20)
  3. It is especially suited for busy lifestyles, active adults, and those new to exercising
  4. No prior experience or special equipment is required
  5. All classes are FREE for the month of February!

Classes begin Saturday, February 1st, 2025 and will be held at the Averitt Center's Grande Studio of the art gallery building located at 41 W. Main St.

Wear comfortable clothes, tennis shoes, and bring water. Choose the class or classes that speak to you! A schedule is below:

  • 10am - Zumba Gold® (low-impact Zumba – no jumping or stomping)
  • 10:30am - Power Moves
  • 11am - Stretch & Tone
  • 11:30am - Line Dancing Basics

The program is organized and led by AFAA and Zumba Gold® certified group fitness instructor Jean Marie Donovan who has taught locally at LOA (now Empowher), the Averitt, and Statesboro YMCA.
