Forsyth Farmers' Market to host “Market Tales: An Afternoon with Local Writers” this weekend

The Forsyth Farmers’ Market, south Georgia’s largest farmers market, will host Market Tales: An Afternoon with Local Writers as part of the farmers’ market on Saturday, July 27th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free, family-friendly event, which is open to the public, will feature local and regional authors signing copies of their latest food-related books.

“We’re delighted to welcome homesteading influencers Sherrie and Bobby Black, award-winning essayist Kathy A. Bradley and acclaimed private chef and food writer Rebekah Lingenfelser to the Forsyth Farmers’ Market on July 27th,” said Tina Saxe, Interim Executive Director of the Forsyth Farmers’ Market. “This local author event is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the impact farmers, chefs and food have on the South’s sense of community through first-hand accounts and recipes passed down for generations.”

SHERRIE & BOBBY BLACKAdventures in Homesteading
In their book Adventures in Homesteading, husband-and-wife authors Sherrie and Bobby Black share how they successfully plant, farm, harvest and cook their own food on a one-acre suburban homestead in Savannah, Ga. The Blacks are high-profile Tik Tok, Instagram and YouTube influencers who operate Black’s Tropical Homestead and encourage others to live a healthier lifestyle.

KATHY A. BRADLEY, Sifting Artifacts
Two-time Georgia Author of the Year honoree Kathy A. Bradley asks important questions about humanity, community and stewardship in her third book of essays, Sifting Artifacts. Writing from the family farm where she has lived for almost 40 years, Bradley documents her discovery of a new lens through which she looks at the world and herself.

REBEKAH LINGENFELSERUnique Eats and Eateries of Savannah
Private chef, culinary TV personality and food writer Rebekah Lingenfelser explores the Hostess City’s culinary scene in her latest book, Unique Eats and Eateries of Savannah. Lingenfelser shares Savannah’s restaurants, bakeries, meat markets and cafes and introduces readers to the fascinating people and inspiring stories behind the food.
