A modular home was completely destroyed by fire Thursday night on Black Creek Church Road, leaving a family of six without their home and belongings.
Bulloch County 911 received the call around 9:48 p.m., dispatching crews from both Bulloch County Fire and Statesboro Fire departments to the 7100 block of Black Creek Church Road.
Upon arrival, the first responding engine reported the home was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked quickly, blacking out the main body of the fire within minutes. However, crews remained on the scene for over an hour, addressing lingering hot spots within the structure.
The fire resulted in a total loss for the family residing in the home.
Community support is already mobilizing to assist the victims. Tyrone Willis with Statesboro CAFE and Bulloch VOAD responded to the scene and is coordinating temporary housing for the family. Additionally, Red Cross Disaster Services has been activated, alongside other local agencies, to provide further aid and resources to help the family begin the recovery process.
Bulloch County Fire officials will conduct a routine investigation to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
