District Attorney's Office announces new chief investigator, Andrae Wright

The Ogeechee Circuit District Attorney’s Office is proud to announce the appointment of Andrae Wright as the new Chief Investigator.

A graduate of Statesboro High as well as East Georgia (A.A. Criminal Justice) and Georgia Southern University (B.S. Justice Studies), Investigator Andrae Wright brings more than 23 years of extensive law enforcement experience to his new role as Chief Investigator.

Over the course of his distinguished career, he has served in a variety of critical roles, demonstrating versatility and commitment. His roles have included Detention Officer in the Sheriff's Jail Division, Corrections Officer with the Department of Juvenile Justice, Sheriff’s Road Patrol Deputy, and founding member of the Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit. Additionally, he has served as a Supervisor in the Civil/Warrants Division, Criminal Investigator for the Sheriff’s Office, and District Security Officer in collaboration with the United States Marshals Service.

Additionally, he has attended trainings such as the Regional Counterdrug Training Academy in Meridian Station, Mississippi, Commercial Drug Interdiction Training, and the Institute of Police Technology and Management in Florida. He is also a member of the Child Fatality Review Board and Georgia Gang Association.

Notably, Investigator Wright was named Investigator of the Year in 2024 with the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office after he assisted with the successful prosecution of a triple homicide.

Over the years, he has established a reputation for his exceptional ability to assess complex situations quickly and accurately. His strong interpersonal and analytical problem-solving skills have made him a cornerstone of effective investigations. Known for his unwavering commitment to justice, he consistently utilizes every resource at his disposal, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
