We'll be showing the landmark 1922 silent masterpiece "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror" with SFUMC's Organist and Minister of Music Dr. Jackson Borges providing an all-improvised, in-the-moment movie score on SFUMC's mighty Casavant/Walker/Zimmer organ. Fishing Rodeo, 7am - 11am, Hurricane Helene won't stop the fishing rodeo! The Bulloch Bass Club and Bulloch County Recreation and Parks are still inviting the community to the 2024 Gary Oglesby Memorial Youth Fishing Rodeo at the Mill Creek Regional Park pond on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 8-11am. FCA Fields of Faith, Wednesday, October 9, 6:45pm, Students from Bulloch, Candler, Evans, Jenkins, and Screven County Schools will join thousands of other youths on athletic fields across the nation on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, to share their Christian faith with fellow students during the 20th annual national Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Fields of Faith event. Donations for hurricane victims will be collected and distributed. The event will be located at 10 Coach Lee Hill BLVD in Statesboro, Georgia.
Free family event at the Averitt Center: Are we Scared Yet?, Friday, October 11, 7pm and Saturday, October 12, 3pm, We're getting excited about this upcoming youth theater production! This event is TOTALLY FREE TO ATTEND! Bring your friends, neighbors, kids, and your neighbor's kids; everyone is welcome. This play is suitable for families and kids. Franklin Toyota Fall Festival Saturday, October 26, 5:30pm - 8:30pm: Franklin Toyota is turning up the fall fun with a special Fall Fest on October 26th from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, packed with activities and treats for the whole family—all for a good cause! The event aims to raise funds to help the community rebuild after Hurricane Helene, with all proceeds going towards a local food bank to restock for the upcoming holiday season.
Families can expect a lineup of classic fall fun, including hotdogs, chili, popcorn, and cotton candy. There’s even a small pumpkin patch where kids can pick out a mini pumpkin to take home for free! For some hands-on fun, there will be pumpkin decorating, face painting, and even a car fishing game. But the excitement doesn’t stop there: attendees can hop on a hay ride or visit the petting zoo for some furry friend fun.
The team is still looking for food trucks to join the cause, so if any local vendors want to pitch in, they’re encouraged to reach out. Even if food trucks aren’t locked in yet, Franklin Toyota is determined to make this a memorable evening for the community.
