Anderson’s General Store hosted its first-ever Christmas at Anderson’s on December 12, and the event was nothing short of magical. With a turnout that exceeded all expectations, the festive gathering brought together the Statesboro community for an evening of celebration, connection, and holiday cheer.
“It was amazing to see so many families come out and enjoy the evening together,” said Drew Wiggins, General Manager at Anderson’s General Store. “This was more than just an event; it was about creating that small-town atmosphere where the community comes together to celebrate Christmas.”
A New Tradition Is Born
Though Anderson’s has hosted open houses and other events in the past, this year marked the inaugural Christmas at Anderson’s event—a celebration that the team hopes will become an annual tradition.
“We wanted to make this one special,” Drew Wiggins shared. “This was our first dedicated Christmas event, and the response was incredible. We’re already looking forward to building on this tradition in the years to come.”
The turnout surpassed all projections, with both adults and children enjoying the festive activities and unique shopping opportunities. Families were thrilled with highlights like the mechanical reindeer ride, ornament decorating, and a visit from Santa Claus. Shoppers also appreciated the curated selection of Christmas-themed products from local vendors, including handmade goat milk soaps, candles, and lotions from HomeGrown Trading Post.
“The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive,” Drew Wiggins noted. “People loved the mix of activities and shopping, and it really captured the spirit of the holidays. It was great to see everyone come together and support local businesses.”
A Heartfelt Community Connection
Beyond the festivities, Christmas at Anderson’s reinforced the store’s role as a hub for the community. “We love hosting events like this because it’s not just about shopping—it’s about fostering connections and celebrating what makes our community special,” Drew Wiggins said.
With such a successful first year, Anderson’s General Store is already planning for the next Christmas at Anderson’s. “This was just the beginning,” Drew Wiggins said. “We’re excited to see how we can make it even better next year. Bringing the community together like this is what we’re all about.”
As the event came to a close, one thing was clear: Anderson’s General Store had created a moment of holiday magic that will be remembered and cherished by the Statesboro community for years to come.
