The future of Bulloch County is in the hands of its community members. Georgia Southern University’s Institute for Vibrant and Engaged Communities (IVEC) is inviting residents to take part in a series of Community Conversations titled "Building a Vibrant Bulloch: Uniting for Our Community's Future."
The conversations were paused due to Hurricane Helene but are returning this Saturday. GS IVEC are hosting the meetings around the county ensure that residents from all parts of the county have the opportunity to participate. Here are the dates for the next two conversations:
- Statesboro – Saturday, October 26, 10:00-12:00 PM, at the Russell Union Ballroom, Georgia Southern University Campus
- Portal – Thursday, November 14, 6:00-7:30 PM, at Portal Middle High School Cafeteria
This initiative is designed to bring together local leaders, stakeholders, and everyday citizens to discuss what matters most to Bulloch County. The purpose of these events is to gather input on key issues and identify areas for growth and improvement, fostering a shared vision for a resilient, inclusive, and thriving community.
The first community conversation was previously held in Brooklet and was a success.
Each of these events will cover the same topics, allowing participants to choose the most convenient location for them. These discussions are a vital step toward strengthening the community and shaping its future, with IVEC committed to facilitating inclusive and respectful dialogue.
The input gathered will play a crucial role in developing actionable strategies for the county's long-term success, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued. Residents are encouraged to take part in this unique opportunity to make a difference in Bulloch County’s future.
