Support furry friends at Fixing the Boro with fall t-shirt fundraiser

Fixing the Boro’s football-themed fall t-shirts are available online through August 30, benefiting the organization’s rescue mission

Fixing the Boro is holding a fall t-shirt fundraiser to support all the furry friends in its rescue division. The shirt is football-themed and available for purchase online.

Shirts are $30 plus shipping, and online orders will close Tuesday, August 30. Click here to purchase a shirt. (Hover over the image and select "Shop Now.")

The organization operates two divisions: an animal rescue and a low-cost spay and neuter (SNIP) clinic. This fundraiser will specifically benefit the rescue side.

According to Sarah Roehm, rescue director and co-founder at FTB, there are currently 52 dogs, 69 cats, 5 rabbits, and 8 guinea pigs available through the organization.

Roehm said FTB relies heavily on foster families to care for the animals who are waiting for permanent homes. Pets are housed by fosters in Bulloch county and beyond, and the SNIP clinic houses two adoptable cat condos, as well. FTB is always in need of more fosters. All expenses needed to care for foster animals are covered by Fixing the Boro.

"From medical expenses, food, and litter to bowls and leashes, anything that is needed to foster is provided by us," Roehm said. "We cover all the main care necessities."

In addition to the rescue operation, the SNIP clinic at Fixing the Boro is also making a huge impact on the pet population in Statesboro and surrounding areas. To date, the SNIP clinic has completed 11,542 low cost spay/neuter surgeries. They completed 5,355 surgeries last year alone and are well on the way to meeting or surpassing that number this year, with 3,519 surgeries so far in 2022.
