The City of Statesboro and the Coastal Regional Commission of Georgia will host two stakeholder meetings for the Statesboro Strategic Plan on Wednesday, April 23, and Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Both meetings will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Statesboro First United Methodist Church located at 101 S Main Street, Statesboro.
The City of Statesboro has partnered with the Coastal Regional Commission to update its Strategic Plan. Unlike a Comprehensive Plan, which is a guiding tool for zoning and development processes over an extended term, the Strategic Plan is a specific tool that guides major projects and priorities in the near term. The City completed its last Strategic Plan in 2018 and has made substantial progress in accomplishing the goals set in that plan. The updated 2025 – 2030 plan will create a roadmap for the next five years.
"The City's Strategic Plan is an essential document crafted through community input,” says Kathy Field, Statesboro’s Director of Planning & Development. “The plan is intended to address local needs in the near term by outlining top priorities for the community and providing supporting strategies for the future.”
The City of Statesboro is asking for help from the local community to identify top priorities and goals. In addition to attending the upcoming stakeholder meetings, members of the public are invited to fill out the Strategic Plan survey, which can be completed by visiting www.statesboroga.gov/strategicplan.
