Peggy Mallard Skinner

February 25, 1935 - January 10, 2023

Mrs. Peggy Mallard Skinner, age 87, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility in Statesboro.

A native of Bulloch County, she attended Marvin Pittman School. She retired from Carrier Classics and Cooper Tools. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, fishing, and loved traveling.

She was known for her cooking, especially her cakes. Peggy was the happiest when she was with her family. She was a member of Nevils Creek Church.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas L. Skinner; her parents, Denver and Edna Beasley Mallard; a sister, Shirley Shaw; and a brother, James Troy Mallard.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Skinner (William) Hester of Statesboro; three sons, Dewayne (Mindy) Skinner, Tony (Janice) Skinner, and Travis Skinner, all of Statesboro; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Merlene Phillips of Statesboro.

The family will receive visitors Friday January 13th from 12:00pm until the funeral hour at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

Funeral services will follow in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson at 1:00pm with Elder Jason Mallard and Pastor Thomas Hendrix officiating.

Interment will follow at Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jamie D. Harris, Austin Hurst, Geary Spaulding, Judd Skinner, Dale Vickery, Jerome Petty, and Ben Skinner.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, PO Box 159, Statesboro, GA 30459.
