Georgia Southern men's golf coach Carter Collins has announced that Reece Coleman (Port Elizabeth, South Africa/Gray HS/Anderson) has signed to play for the Eagles, beginning in the 2023-24 season.

"We are extremely excited about adding Reece to our program," said Collins.

"He will arrive in Statesboro with a lot of success on the course and in the classroom. Throughout the recruitment of Reece, we were impressed with his attention to detail, his humility as well as his competitive fire. He will be a great fit at Georgia Southern and with his tremendous talents and leadership skills, will have the opportunity to step right in and help continue to push this program forward."

  • Currently the 5th ranked player in Division 2 (golfstat)
  • 2022-23 Stroke Average of 70.17
  • 2021-22 Stroke Average of 72.38
  • 2020-21 Stroke Average of 72.65
  • 2019-20 Stroke Average of 71.67
  • 2020, 2021 and 2022 All-South Atlantic Conference selection
  • 2020 All-South Atlantic Conference Freshman of The Year
  • Has posted 14 top-10 finishes and placed in the top-5 seven times
  • 2 collegiate wins, AU Invitational & Southern Tide Classic
  • Two-time CoSIDA Academic selection
  • 3.69 GPA
  • 2022 Mid-Pines Amateur 67-73-71, 3rd
  • Selected to represent South Africa on the 19U provincial team in 2017 and 2018
  • Finished high school ranked 34 in Golf RSA 19U rankings.
  • Advanced to match play in the NOMADS South African Boys U19 Championship for two consecutive years (2017, 2018)

The 2022-23 Eagles open the spring portion of their season Feb. 5-6 at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate at Georgia Southern University Golf Course in Statesboro.
