The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, in conjunction with various local, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency management agencies will be hosting, free of charge, a Drone Public Awareness Brief at Memorial Stadium in Savannah, Georgia on December 7, 2022, at 6:30 PM.

The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, in conjunction with various local, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency management agencies will be hosting, free of charge, a Drone Public Awareness Brief at Memorial Stadium in Savannah, Georgia on December 7, 2022, at 6:30 PM.

Partnering agencies include the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Georgia Air National Guard 165th Airlift Wing, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA), and the Chatham County Emergency Management Agency (CEMA).

With the holiday season approaching, it is anticipated that there will be an uptick in drone purchases. The purpose of this event is to provide education on current FAA rules and regulations regarding drones, pending state level legislation, and awareness of the controlled and restricted airspace around the Savannah Regional area to include Georgia State Parks and State/National Historical Sites, National Parks, Military Installations and Airports.
