Sarah Jerona Anderson Morris

September 6, 1931 - November 9, 2022

Mrs. Sarah Jerona Anderson Morris, age 91, died on Wednesday, November 9th 2022 at Southern Manor Retirement Inn in Statesboro, under the care of Regency SouthernCare Hospice.

Mrs. Jerona was born in Statesboro, GA on September 6th 1931 to the late Henry Iverson Anderson and Clarabell Parrish Anderson.

She attended Statesboro High School, graduating with the class of 1948 and worked for Statesboro Telephone Company for 47 years. She began working as a Telephone Operator, then was a supervisor, and when she retired she was working in the accounting department.

Mrs. Jerona was a lifelong member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church and an active member of the Ladies Fellowship Class and member of the Cora Williams Ladies Circle. She was a 9th generation direct descendent of the Salzburgers, and was an avid card player, and enjoyed needlepoint. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Loid Glen Morris, her sister, Willie Brooks Waters, and her son-in-law, Marvin Grimm.

Mrs. Jerona is survived by her daughter, Terri Grimm of Portal, her son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Pam Morris of Statesboro, her grandchildren, Andrea Barns (Danny), Eric Brannen, Glen A. Brannen, Brandon Brannen (Ginger), and Alex Morris, her great-grandchildren, Allie and Abby Morris, Kennedy and Max Brannen, and Charleigh, Evie, and Levin Brannen, as well as her special sister-in-law, Shirley Morris.

Her family gives special thanks to the nurses and staff of Southern Manor and also Regency SouthernCare Hospice for the excellent care given to Mrs. Jerona during her final days.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 1:30pm until 2:30pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.

A graveside service will follow at 3:00pm at Bulloch Memorial Gardens with Elder Randy Waters officiating.

Pallbearers will be Andy Morris, Alex Morris, Brandon Brannen, Eric Brannen, Clavin Blackburn, and Bill Akins.
