Following her recent victory at the 83rd Miss Georgia Forestry state level competition, Junior Miss Georgia Forestry Queen Wynslee Morris sought to share her success with Bulloch County Board Chairman Roy Thompson, the Bulloch County Board of Commissioners, and Brad Deal, County Engineer.

After winning the title in the State Level Pageant, she went on to represent Georgia, winning at the national level of the pageant in October.

As an additional prize for her success, Morris has a road sign to mark Bulloch County as "The Home of Jr. Miss Georgia Forestry Queen."

The board agreed to place the sign (pictured above) on the Metter-Portal Highway for drivers leaving Candler County to see on their way into Bulloch County.

The Forestry Pageant is the oldest running scholarship pageant in Georgia and a large provider of college scholarships. The pageant is a competition celebrating the State of Georgia, its forestry industry, and the people who protect and promote it.

The 2022 state pageant was held at the Tift County Performing Arts Center in Tifton in June. The pageant awarded winners with $104,000 in college scholarships and $6550 in cash scholarships. Only one contestant from each county and college in Georgia is accepted for the competition, and queens go on to act as ambassadors alongside Smokey the Bear.
