Five service members will be heading home for the holidays thanks to a new initiative from Savannah/Hilton Head International (SAV).
SAV, in partnership with WTOC-TV and the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, are holding a contest that will see five service members fly home to Savannah/Hilton Head over the holidays.
From now through Nov. 27, families and friends can nominate a service member online. Submissions should be at least 300 words and describe why the service member deserves the free trip home.
Service members can also nominate themselves. Entries are due by midnight on Sunday, Nov. 27.
Winners will be chosen by a committee and will be announced on WTOC-TV on Dec. 6. Service members must be eligible for leave between Dec. 7 and Feb. 9, 2023, and must fly to/from SAV.
