Annual Brooklet tree lighting set for Wednesday

The Brooklet Community Development Association will host its annual tree lighting ceremony in Brooklet on Wednesday, November 30. This annual event is traditionally held on the Wednesday after Thanksgiving.

The Brooklet Community Development Association will host its annual tree lighting ceremony in Brooklet on Wednesday, November 30. This annual event is traditionally held on the Wednesday after Thanksgiving.

The event will begin at 6pm at the gazebo in downtown Brooklet. Ellen Perkins of the BCDA will welcome community members to the event, followed by a prayer from Mayor Joe Grooms.

Five Brooklet church pastors and choirs are scheduled to attend and will provide music along with the Southeast Bulloch High School band and chorus. Churches include Brooklet United Methodist, Landmark Holiness, Brooklet Primitive Baptist, Brooklet First Baptist, and Little Bethel Baptist. The Brooklet Elementary School chorus will also perform.

Elder Lee Chambers from Brooklet Primitive Baptist will read the Christmas Story.

Southern Dance Academy will also perform under the direction of Rosanna Hoyle.

Following the performances, Santa is set to arrive for photos and visits!

Morris Bank will provide refreshments.

In case of bad weather, the back-up date for the event will be Saturday, December 3, at 3pm. Grice Connect will provide an update if the event is rescheduled.
