When no candidate receives a majority of votes in the general election, a runoff between the top two vote-getters is required. Statewide, voters will decide between incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock and his challenger Herschel Walker for U.S. Senate in a runoff election on December 6, 2022.

Advance, in-person voting for the runoff will take place in Bulloch County from Monday, November 28, to Friday, December 2 only, from 8am-5:30pm each day. There is no Saturday voting for this election cycle.

Extended voting hours

At the Bulloch County Elections Board meeting on November 14, both the Board and the staff agreed to extend the advance voting hours by 30 minutes each day, which is reflected in the hours below. Representatives from the local NAACP as well as from both parties had expressed their concern with the limited amount of early voting time.

"Since Senate Bill 202 changed a lot of election laws significantly, this was our way of trying to offer the best we could to our constituents of Bulloch County and those who may need the extra 30 minutes to get here from work," said Shontay Jones, Bulloch County Elections Supervisor.

Typically, Jones said, very few voters in Bulloch County are turned away for arriving late, and Saturday voting days have not been overcrowded.

"We really hope people will take advantage of this extension, and [we will] see how it goes for possible future consideration, as well," Jones added.

No Saturday voting

While a recent court ruling provided that Saturday voting is allowed for the runoff in Georgia, the Bulloch Elections office is awaiting assistance from the state to begin reprogramming their voting machinery. For that reason, Saturday voting the weekend after Thanksgiving will not be possible.

When and where to vote

You may vote in advance at the Bulloch County North Main Annex (113 N. Main St. in Statesboro) from 8am to 5:30pm each day of the early voting period. If you need an absentee ballot for the runoff, you must request one by Monday, November 28, 2022.

There is no voting on December 5. Election Day voting will be held only at your assigned precinct (not the Annex) on Tuesday, December 6. You may look up your precinct here.
