The Baumann family of Aldred Hill Road in Statesboro has a super spooky display for you and your family to enjoy this Halloween season. This has become a family tradition for the Baumanns over the last several years, and last year alone, they welcomed more than 200 little ghosts and goblins for trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

Katrina and Clifford Baumann have always enjoyed Halloween, and they really enjoy setting up their decorations each year. But Katrina says these photos won't really do the decorations justice.

"It’s one of those things you have to see in person, as there is too much to capture, and we only have 75% out [right now]," she said. "We always put out more decorations on Halloween, as we like to leave some mystery!"

On Halloween, visitors and trick-or-treaters can expect the fun to be amped up with Halloween music, animatronics, and even a smoke machine.

In previous years, the Baumanns have welcomed families from not just Statesboro but also surrounding counties, with some traveling several towns over just to enjoy the spooky decorations.

The family takes care to make the decorations fun and scary (but not too scary!). They welcome visitors of all ages, and their goal is for everyone to have fun.

The Baumanns' favorite elements of their display include the Halloween arch, built by hand with a custom-made sign (his), and the skeletons, who you can find in new poses each year (hers).

"We do this because we truly enjoy the spookiness of the holiday," Katrina Baumann said. "There is some kind of magic that people seem to have forgotten, and it just seems like no one else does this anymore. We don’t want Halloween to be forgotten!"

Clifford is also known for his handmade costumes, for which he has won awards in the region. In fact, he's been making their children's costumes since the very first year of Scare on the Square in Statesboro. Inside the house, you'll probably find them watching a Halloween movie or two. They love zombies best, but there's always room for the classics like Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown, too.

The family will be ready for trick-or-treaters at 5pm on Halloween and will welcome visitors until 9pm.
