The Portal Heritage Society will welcome the Lewis and Clark Circus to Portal this weekend for three shows.

This "great American show" promises entertainment for the whole family, with performances on Saturday, September 17, at 5pm and 7:30pm, and on Sunday, September 18, at 3pm.

Performers Lena and Vandier Reis own this smaller, more intimate circus show that can be moved entirely on pickup trucks. The show is 90 minutes and features professional performers, acrobats, jugglers, aerialists, clowns, and daredevils. The show is backed by music, lighting, and colorful costumes.

Inclement weather will present no issue for the show, as it is performed underneath a 100-foot big top tent with seating for up to 600.

Tickets are available online for the show at discounted prices. The Family Package includes two adults and up to four children free for $45. One adult and one child free is $20, and additional children's tickets are $5 each. For ticketing purposes, a child is considered age 3 to 12, and children 2 and under are free.

Tickets will also be available at the door, payable by cash or credit card, but will not be discounted. Show organizers recommend purchasing in advance. If you are unable to print your tickets, you may show them on your phone at the door.

The show will take place at the Portal Heritage Society Turpentine at 217 Turpentine Drive in Portal. For more information, contact the Heritage Society at [email protected] or (912) 655-0582.

SAVE THE DATE! The Heritage Society will host the annual Catface Turpentine Festival, a local legacy since 1930, on October 1, 2022.
