The Georgia Southern Eagles football team will take to the road again on Saturday for a battle with UAB at Protective Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:34 p.m. (ET)/2:34 p.m. (local) and will be broadcast on Stadium. The game will also be available via radio on the Georgia Southern Sports Network. Here's all you need to know about the game:

  • Georgia Southern and UAB have never met in football.
  • Georgia Southern has played 19 games previously against current members of Conference USA, posting a 13-6 record.
  • Eagle offensive line coach Richard Owens came from UAB this season after coaching the Blazers from 2019-21 and also 2012-14. Offensive coordinator Bryan Ellis was a G.A. at UAB in 2012-13. Special teams coach Turner West was an intern for the Blazers in 2011.
  • UAB linebacker Reynard Ellis played for Georgia Southern in 2019 and 2020, earning all-conference honors twice.

10: Derwin Burgess Jr. became just the third Eagle player in program history to record 10 or more catches in a game when he caught a school-record 12 passes at Nebraska last week.
9: Georgia Southern scored on its first nine trips into the red zone this season beforte running out of time at the end of the first half last week at Nebraska.
8: A week after 10 different players caught passes against Morgan State, eight different Eagles caught passes against Nebraska.
7: Georgia Southern is averaging a Sun Belt-best seven yards per play (1,146 yards, 164 plays).
6: The Eagles, who normally wear white pants on the road, broke a six-game losing streak in blue pants dating back to the 1998 national championship game, when they won in them last week at Nebraska.
5: Khaleb Hood enters this week's game with 76 receptions for 989 yards. His reception total ranks fifth in school history and he is just 11 yards away from becoming the ninth 1,000-yard receiver for the Eagles.
4: After rushing for six touchdowns combined in 2020 and 2021, junior Jalen White already has four rushing touchdowns this season in just two games.

The Georgia Southern football team heads to Birmingham to take on UAB on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. (ET)/2:30 p.m. (local). The game will be broadcast by Stadium, a digital television and internet sports network operated as a multi-platform sports network.

While not available on televisions in Georgia, Stadium includes a 24/7 linear feed distributed across both digital and broadcast platforms, as well as on-demand (VOD) digital content including additional live games and events.

The game WILL NOT be available on ESPN3 or ESPN+.
