COVID vaccines, for ages five and up, will be available on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Library. The Library is located at 124 S. Main Street in Statesboro.
Squashing the Spread Bulloch, a group made up of community members that work to prevent COVID spread in the area, is organizing the pop-up vaccine clinic.
Squashing the Spread Co-Chair Megan Hopkins says, “The COVID risk level has increased to medium, and school is starting, so now is the time to make sure everyone who wants to be vaccinated gets up-to-date.”
CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) will be administering Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and boosters. CORE is a partner of the Georgia Department of Public Health and works to make vaccines available for all Georgians. COVID vaccines are now approved for everyone over six months of age. Boosters are recommended for everyone ages five and up, after five months in most cases. A second booster is recommended for ages 50 and up. For detailed information on booster eligibility, visit CDC.gov.
Vaccines for children between the ages of six months and five years are now available at the Bulloch County Health Department. Walk-ins are welcome during business hours, except the facility closes for lunch.
McCook's Pharmacy are offering vaccines for anyone ages three and up that meet certain weight requirements.
