Motorcyclist dies in crash on Highway 80 East Monday morning

A female driver of a motorcycle has died in the two vehicle accident

Bulloch County 911 dispatched emergency services at 10:00 am on Monday, August 15, 2022 to a two vehicle accident involving a motorcyclist and a car.

The accident occured on Highway 80 East at Cody Lane, just outside of Brooklet, Georgia. It is believed the female driver of a motorcycle (which was a scooter type motorcycle) struck the side of a pickup truck and was killed on impact.

Bulloch County EMS and Bulloch County Fire first responders responded to the accident, along with Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies, Brooklet Police Department and Georgia State Patrol.

When paramedics arrived on the scene they determined that the motorcyclist was deceased. Law enforcement requested Bulloch Coroner Jake Futch to respond to the accident scene. Coroner Futch pronounced the motorcyclist as deceased at the scene. No other details are available on the female driver at this time, pending notification of next of kin. There were no other injuries reported in the accident.

Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers on the scene requested the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) to respond to the scene to assist in the investigation.

GSP is incharge of the investigation. No further details are available at this time.
