Statesboro man dies in ATV accident Saturday

On Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 8:04 PM, Bulloch County 911 dispatched Bulloch County EMS, Bulloch County First Responders, Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies and Georgia State Patrol to an ATV accident.

The ATV accident occured in the county near the intersection of 5 Chop Road and West Waters Road.

According to Bulloch County Deputy Coroner, Richard Pylant, three people were riding in a Kawasaki Mule Side By Side ATV on dirt roads in the county when one of the passengers fell out of the back of the mule onto the road.

Deputy Coroner Pylant identified the passenger who fell out of the ATV as Tony Woodcock, 63 with a Statesboro address. Mr. Woodcock received fatal injuries after falling out of the ATV and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Woodcock has been sent to the GBI Medical Examiner's office in Pooler for further investigation into his death.

GSP troopers on the scene requested the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) to assist with the accident investigation. Charges are pending. GSP is in charge of the accident investigation.

Alcohol is believed to have contributed to the accident.
