Mrs. Joan Kyarsgaard Bolton passed away June 30, 2022, while under the compassionate care of PruittHealth-Bethany in Millen, Georgia. Mrs. Bolton was born on March 12, 1935, to Charles and Mamie Beck Kyarsgaard in Iowa City, Iowa. She lived in Clinton, Iowa until 1973 when she moved to Bulloch County, Georgia. Mrs. Bolton loved the Lord and was a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church in Screven County.
Family was everything to Joan and she spent most of her life caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When she did have some free moments, she enjoyed working on her word puzzles.
Mrs. Bolton was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ralph who passed in 2011; her daughter, Jolene Petty; her son Norman Bolton; sister, Dorothy “Dot” McGrath; and brother, George Kyarsgaard.
She is survived by her daughters, Ellen Woods of Statesboro, Carmel Hope of Statesboro, Leona Murphy of Portal, Linda Snellgrove of Portal, and Leafie Rebell of Iowa; six sons, William Wiese of Statesboro, Duane Wiese of Statesboro, Darold Swanson of Statesboro, Delmer Bolton of Iowa, Jonathan Bolton of Iowa, and Rex Bolton of Iowa; a sister, Lola Giddings (William) of Iowa; brothers, Duane Kyarsgaard of Iowa, Delbert Kyarsgaard of Iowa, and Eldon Kyarsgaard of Illinois; 22 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Deal Funeral Directors in Statesboro, Georgia. The Graveside funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at Faith Temple Baptist Church in Screven County with Elder Jake Futch officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
